Early HELIOS-44 f2/58mm silver KMZ
13 blades aperture

0xxxxxx serial number

The lens has been serviced: cleaned, lubricated, adjusted (CLA).

The KMZ Early HELIOS-44 f2/58mm silver lenses are highly regarded as the top choice in their category. Inspired by the Carl Zeiss Biotar, the lens features 13 blades and utilizes the optical design of the Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 2/58.

The version of the Helios-44 lens with a 13-blade aperture makes the most artistic picture.
Lenses were also produced with serial numbers starting with one, two or three zeros. It has been suggested on the forums that they were intended for executives of various ranks.
The lens is quite sharp already at full aperture. At F / 2.0, good sharpness is obtained, which allows you to use it in poor lighting, and at 2.0 you can get good portraits.
Helios-44 is excellent for photographing portraits - and therefore it is still very much loved by modern photographers.

The optical element (glass) of this lens allows you to obtain images with better focus and contrast.

Helios-44 is an interesting lens with an amazing image and a fixed focal length of 58mm. The aperture has 13 blades.
Stop at fixed values. When the aperture is closed, the lens produces almost uniform circles in the out-of-focus area. Focusing range from 0.5 meter to infinity.
The aperture has fixed values from 2.0 to 16.0. The lens is quite sharp at f/2.0 aperture, allowing for great portraits with fantastic swirling bokeh. The lens has a very specific bokeh.

Many photographers are of the opinion that Helios44 is better by features in the first edition, under M39.
This is because quality control was better in the 50's and early 60's.
