Jupiter-6 f/2.8 180mm is a long-focus fast lens for SLR cameras.

The lens was recalculated from the already famous Olympic Zeiss Sonnar 180mmf/2.8 (Olympic Carl Zeiss Sonnar Jena 180mm f/2.8 ), released in 1936 for the Olympics in Berlin.

The 'picture' from Jupiter-6 is very good. Soft, plastic, voluminous, moderately sharp with a very beautiful bokeh. The lens for shooting portraits is almost perfect. It conveys halftones well and hides skin defects. At full frame, the Jupiter 6 2.8/180 is a very nice portrait lens. It was recommended for outdoor photography of distant objects, portraits, crowd scenes, especially in low light.

At present, they are quite rare in the secondary market. Jupiter-6 2.8/180 turned out to be quite sharp, contrasting. There are no serious complaints about the image. Many phptpgraphers like the Sonnar's bokeh of this lens.

The Jupiter 6 lens is heavy and quite massive, because it is made only of metal and glass. But you get used to the weight quickly, especially since it has a good effect on the prevention of 'wiggling'. Focusing is comfortable and smooth.

Jupiter-6 can be called the best 180mm lens in Soviet optics. Excellent color rendering, high aperture and sharpness, everything is on top. It has a very reliable design - it is made to last. With all this, it shows a beautiful pattern with pleasant bokeh. It conveys halftones well and hides skin defects. Finding Jupiter-6 in good condition is quite difficult these days.
